• Diuretics (e.g., furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide): The concomitant use may increase the risk of dehydration and low blood pressure
• Cationic medicines (e.g., cimetidine, ranolazine): The concomitant use may affect metformin elimination
• Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (e.g., topiramate, acetazolamide): The concomitant use may increase the risk of lactic acidosis.

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs): There may be a higher risk of UTIs while on this tablet.
• Vitamin B12 deficiency: The metformin in this tablet can reduce Vitamin B12 levels over time.
• Kidney impairment: This tablet should be used with caution; discontinue if kidney function worsens.
• Pancreatitis: Sitagliptin has been associated with reports of acute pancreatitis, requiring immediate discontinuation if suspected.
• Diabetic ketoacidosis: Istamet Empa 10/100/1000 Tablet 10 may increase the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis, including cases with near-normal blood glucose levels; treatment should be discontinued immediately and medical evaluation is required if symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rapid breathing, or confusion occur.

Overdose of Istamet Empa 10/100/1000 Tablet 10 may lead to severe dehydration, excessive urination, dizziness, low blood sugar, or symptoms of lactic acidosis such as rapid breathing, muscle pain, or extreme weakness. Seek immediate medical attention if overdose is suspected.
 

If a dose of Istamet Empa 10/100/1000 Tablet 10 is missed, take it as soon as remembered unless it is close to the next scheduled dose. Skip the missed dose if necessary. Do not take a double dose.
