Gibtulio Sm 10/1000 Tablet 10 is used in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus that is not adequately controlled on metformin alone or with another diabetes medicine.

Uses of Gibtulio Sm 10/1000 Tablet 10 are:

• Type 2 Diabetes: Helps improve blood sugar control in adults through three complementary actions.
• Complication Risk: Better glucose control helps reduce the long-term risk of heart, kidney, nerve and eye complications.
• Triple Combination Therapy: Suitable when a single or dual diabetes medicine is not enough.

• Swallow the tablet whole with water
• Take it preferably at the same time each day
• It is usually taken with food to reduce stomach discomfort
• Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet
• Always follow your doctor’s instructions regarding dose and timing

Gibtulio Sm 10/1000 Tablet 10 contains the following active components:

• Empagliflozin (10 mg): Empagliflozin is a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. It lowers blood glucose by reducing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, leading to increased glucose excretion through urine.
• Metformin (1000 mg): Metformin is a biguanide that decreases glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues, enhancing glucose utilisation.
• Sitagliptin (100 mg): Sitagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that increases levels of incretin hormones, thereby improving insulin release and reducing glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner.
