Silverex SSD Cream is used to prevent and manage infections in burn wounds. Uses of Silverex SSD Cream are:

• Prevention of infection in burns: This medicine creates a protective barrier over burn wounds to stop harmful germs (bacteria and other microorganisms) from entering and causing infection.

• Treatment of infection in burns: It helps kill infectious microorganisms that may already be present in burn wounds, supporting the healing process.

• Management of burn wounds: This medicine reduces pain and discomfort in the affected area whilst promoting proper healing of damaged skin tissue.

Apply Silverex SSD Cream as suggested below:

• Before application, ensure that the affected skin area is clean and dry.

• Apply a thin layer of the cream to the burn wound using clean hands or a sterile applicator.

• Gently spread the cream to cover the entire affected area.

• Wash your hands thoroughly after applying the cream to prevent the spread of infection.

• Consult your doctor for specific advice on how often to apply this medicine.

Silverex SSD Cream is applied topically.

Silverex SSD Cream contains two active ingredients that work together:

• Chlorhexidine gluconate (0.2% w/w): This antiseptic (a substance that prevents infection) works by binding strongly to the skin and the outer layers of bacterial cells. It damages the cell membrane (the protective outer covering of bacteria), causing the contents of the bacterial cell to leak out. This action kills infectious microorganisms and effectively cleans wounds and burns to prevent infection.

• Nanonized Silver sulfadiazine (0.5% w/w): This antibiotic (a medicine that fights bacterial infections) acts specifically on the cell membrane and cell wall of bacteria. It interferes with the bacteria's ability to produce essential proteins and genetic material needed for survival. This bactericidal effect (ability to kill bacteria) helps eliminate infection-causing organisms from the wound surface.

• Store Silverex SSD Cream at room temperature, below 30°C.

• Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use to protect the medicine from air and moisture.

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.

• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• Keep the burn wound clean and follow your doctor's instructions regarding dressings and wound care to reduce the risk of infection and support healing.

• Eat foods rich in protein like eggs, fish, chicken, lentils, and dairy products, as protein helps your body repair damaged skin tissue and supports faster wound healing.
