CompositionS AMCARD 2.5 TABLET 10 is a medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and to prevent and relieve chest pain (angina), including angina caused by spasm of the heart's arteries. Keeping blood pressure under control helps lower the risk of stroke and heart attack.
It belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers, which relax and widen the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily and the heart does not have to work as hard. It is usually taken at the same time each day. Continue taking it even if you feel well, and do not stop it without medical advice.
Healthy lifestyle changes support treatment alongside this medicine. These include reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney, or heart problems or other medicines you take. Mild ankle swelling, flushing, or headache can occur, especially at first, and usually settles. Tell your doctor if ankle swelling becomes troublesome. Continue taking it for the full duration prescribed, even if you feel well, as stopping early can let your blood pressure rise again.
