Roxid-100 Liquid Suspension is used for the following:

• Management of upper respiratory tract infections including sore throat and inflamed tonsils

• Management of lower respiratory tract infections such as acute bronchitis, flare-ups of chronic bronchitis, and pneumonia acquired in community settings

• Managing skin and soft tissue infections

• Management of otitis media, an infection in the middle part of the ear.

Give your child Roxid-100 Liquid Suspension as follows:

• Use a measuring cup or dropper to measure the correct dose.

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Roxid-100 Liquid Suspension can be mixed with water, milk or fruit juice to make it easier for your child to take.

• This medicine is sugar-based and needs caution for use in diabetic patients. If your child has diabetes, consult your doctor before giving them this medicine.

• Keep the bottle tightly capped after use.

Roxid-100 Liquid Suspension is given orally to your child.

Roxid-100 Liquid Suspension contains roxithromycin (100mg), which operates in your child’s body as follows:

• Bacteriostatic Action: Roxithromycin works by limiting the growth of bacteria. This means it prevents bacteria from multiplying or growing larger.

• Suppresses Protein Synthesis: The medicine attaches itself to specific parts of the bacteria called the 50S ribosomal subunit. This action inhibits the conversion of messenger RNA into proteins which are vital for bacterial growth.

Through these actions, roxithromycin manages infections by halting bacterial growth, allowing your child's immune system to destroy the remaining bacteria.

• Keep Roxid-100 Liquid Suspension in a tightly closed container.

• Store it at a cool temperature not exceeding 30°C.
