Revlamer 800 Tablet is used to lower high phosphate levels in the blood in adults with chronic kidney disease who are on dialysis. Controlling phosphate helps protect the bones and blood vessels from the harmful effects of long-term kidney disease.
It contains sevelamer, a phosphate binder. Swallow the tablets whole with meals as prescribed; do not crush them. Taking it with food allows it to bind phosphate from what you eat before it is absorbed into the blood.
Diet is a key part of controlling phosphate. Your doctor or dietitian will usually advise limiting high-phosphate foods such as dairy, processed meats, cola drinks, and nuts, alongside other kidney-friendly dietary measures.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any swallowing difficulties, bowel problems, or constipation. Tell your doctor about severe stomach pain or black stools. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
