Phoscut 800 Tablet is used to lower high blood phosphate levels (hyperphosphatemia) in adults with chronic kidney disease who are on dialysis. Lowering phosphate levels helps protect health and reduces the risk of long-term kidney-related complications.
It contains sevelamer, a phosphate binder. Take it with meals or snacks as prescribed by your doctor so it can bind to phosphate in food. Swallow the tablet whole and continue taking it regularly as prescribed.
Dietary changes are an essential part of managing phosphate levels. Your doctor or dietitian may advise you to follow a low-phosphate diet, restricting foods high in phosphorus such as dairy products, nuts, and processed foods.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have bowel blockage, severe constipation, digestive disorders, or major stomach surgery. Regular blood tests may be required to monitor your phosphate and calcium levels.
