CompositionRepace 25 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure in adults and children aged 6 years and above. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing losartan 25mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs).
This medicine is also used to protect the kidneys in adults with type 2 diabetes who have protein in the urine, and to reduce the risk of stroke in people with high blood pressure and a thickened heart muscle. The 25mg strength is often used as a starting dose, including in people with liver problems or low blood volume. Take it once a day at the same time, with or without food.
Reducing salt, staying active, keeping a healthy weight, limiting alcohol and not smoking help lower blood pressure and protect the kidneys.
Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, as it can harm an unborn baby; tell your doctor straight away if you become pregnant. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, narrowing of the kidney arteries, high potassium or dehydration, and about other medicines you take, especially potassium supplements, water tablets or painkillers. Your doctor may check your kidney function and potassium. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding. Contact your doctor if you feel faint or have swelling of the face or throat. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
