Ambrican 5 Tablet is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a condition characterised by high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. It contains ambrisentan, which helps relax and widen the blood vessels in the lungs, improving blood flow and reducing the heart's workload. Common side effects may include flushing, nasal congestion, and sinusitis. It is usually taken with or without food. This medicine is part of a group of medications known as endothelin receptor antagonists.
In addition to its primary use, the tablet can also be employed to improve exercise capacity in patients with WHO Group 1 PAH. It can be used alone or in combination with other PAH medications like phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors, to optimise the management of this condition.
