Pioz 30 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes by addressing insulin resistance. It is a single-ingredient thiazolidinedione containing pioglitazone.
It helps the body's cells respond better to the insulin already present, and is particularly helpful in people whose bodies make insulin but cannot use it effectively. Take it with or without food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and continue for the advised duration, as the full benefit builds up over several weeks.
Eat balanced meals with controlled portions of rice, roti and sweets, stay physically active and watch your weight, as fluid retention and weight gain can occur.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have heart failure, liver disease or a history of bladder cancer, as pioglitazone needs particular caution, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Watch for swelling of the ankles or feet, unexplained weight gain or blood in the urine. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
