Pecef 100 Suspension is an antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections in children affecting the ear, nose, throat, lungs, urinary tract, and skin. It also helps treat typhoid fever, supporting a complete recovery.
It contains cefpodoxime proxetil, a cephalosporin antibiotic that stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall, which kills the bacteria and clears the infection. Give the suspension to your child as prescribed, with food to help absorption, and shake the bottle well before each use.
Complete the full course of antibiotics even if your child starts feeling better within a few days, as stopping early can allow the infection to return and may lead to antibiotic resistance. Encourage your child to drink enough fluids and rest well to support recovery.
Before starting, tell your child's doctor if your child has any kidney problems, a history of allergic reactions to antibiotics, or is taking any other medicines. Contact your child's doctor if your child develops severe loose motions, a rash, or does not improve after a few days of treatment.
