Paraxin Suspension 100ml

Paraxin Oral Suspension is used to treat serious bacterial infections such as typhoid fever, bacterial meningitis, rickettsial infections, brain abscess, and septicaemia. It helps eliminate infection-causing bacteria, reduce complications, and support faster recovery in severe systemic infections.

Administer Paraxin Oral Suspension as follows:

• Shake the bottle well before use to ensure an even distribution of medication.

• Measure out the exact quantity recommended by your doctor with a spoon or cup.

• Take this medicine on an empty stomach, either one hour before eating or two hours after, or as prescribed by the doctor.

• Continue taking this medicine for at least 2-3 days even after symptoms have subsided as instructed by your doctor.

• Consult your doctor for specific advice and further instructions.

Paraxin Oral Suspension is taken orally.

Paraxin Oral Suspension contains chloramphenicol palmitate (125 mg) that acts on your body in the following ways:

• Inhibiting Protein Synthesis: Chloramphenicol works by attaching itself to the 50S ribosomal subunit within susceptible bacteria. This prevents the formation of new peptide bonds, which are crucial for protein synthesis.

• Bacterial Growth Control: By inhibiting protein synthesis, chloramphenicol effectively halts the production of essential proteins needed by bacteria for multiplication. The lack of these proteins stops further bacterial growth.

• Bactericidal Action: In high concentrations, chloramphenicol can not only halt bacterial growth but also kill bacteria outright. This dual action enhances its effectiveness against severe infections.

• Store Paraxin Oral Suspension at a room temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep it away from light and moisture, ensuring the bottle is tightly closed after use.

• Always keep it out of reach of children.

• Discard any unused medicine within 2 weeks of opening the bottle.

• When taking Paraxin Oral Suspension for typhoid fever, ensure you consume fully cooked food and drink only boiled or bottled water. Avoiding raw food can help prevent further bacterial infection.

• If prescribed for meningitis, get plenty of rest as it aids recovery. Avoid strenuous activity which can cause headaches and increase the pressure on your brain.
