Oxramet Tablet is used for the following:

• Preventing kidney disease progression: Use of this medicine can help slow down the progression of chronic kidney disease in adults at risk.

Oxramet Tablet is a combination medicine, working through the combined actions of its two active ingredients:

• Dapagliflozin (5 mg): This ingredient works by selectively inhibiting an enzyme known as sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2). SGLT2 is responsible for reabsorbing glucose from the liquid filtered out of the blood by the kidneys. By inhibiting SGLT2, dapagliflozin leads to increased urinary glucose excretion, which in turn lowers the levels of glucose in the blood.

• Metformin (1000 mg): This ingredient is a biguanide antihyperglycemic agent. It primarily acts by decreasing glucose production in the liver, reducing intestinal absorption of glucose, and improving insulin sensitivity.
