CompositionOvuloc-LD Tablet is a combined oral birth control medicine used primarily to prevent unintended pregnancy. It is also prescribed to regulate irregular menstrual cycles, reduce heavy menstrual blood flow, and alleviate painful menstrual cramps in women.
It contains two synthetic female hormones: desogestrel (a progestogen) and ethinylestradiol (an oestrogen). These active hormones prevent pregnancy through three mechanisms: preventing the release of an egg from the ovaries, thickening cervical mucus to reduce the passage of sperm, and altering the uterine lining to reduce the likelihood of implantation.
Adhering to a strict daily timeline forms a crucial part of maximising contraceptive efficacy. Ensure you take one tablet at exactly the same time each day for twenty-one consecutive days, followed by a seven-day pill-free interval during which withdrawal bleeding usually occurs.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor if you smoke, are over thirty-five years old, or have a history of blood clots, liver disorders, or high blood pressure. It is not suitable if you are already pregnant or breastfeeding. Attend all recommended medical screenings while on this medication.
