Sibolone Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing post-menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness

• Preventing osteoporosis in post-menopausal women at high risk of fractures

• Handling vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause

• Tackling genitourinary symptoms such as vaginal dryness and painful sexual intercourse

• Preventing thinning of the lining of the uterus (endometrial atrophy) in post-menopausal women

• Swallow the tablet as a whole with a glass of water.

• Do not chew or crush the tablet under any circumstances.

Sibolone Tablet is taken orally.

Sibolone Tablet contains tibolone (2.5 mg), which acts in the body as follows:

• Metabolisation into Three Metabolites: Tibolone is metabolised in the body into three main metabolites that have varying effects on different tissues.

• Estrogenic Effects: Two of these metabolites, 3α-hydroxytibolone and 3β-hydroxytibolone, have effects similar to the hormone oestrogen on bone, vaginal, and brain tissues. This action helps in managing post-menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness.

• Progestogenic and Androgenic Effects: The third metabolite, Δ4-isomer, has effects similar to the hormones progesterone and androgen on the endometrium and central nervous system. These effects contribute to the prevention of endometrial atrophy and osteoporosis.

• Store Sibolone Tablet in a cool, dry place where the temperature stays below 25 degrees Celsius.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Always ensure it's out of sight and reach of children.

• Make sure to use this medicine before the expiry date printed on the pack.

• Engage in regular weight-bearing exercises like walking or lifting light weights. This can help manage osteoporosis, for which Sibolone Tablet is often prescribed.

• Consume a diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, such as dairy products, green leafy vegetables, and fortified cereals. These nutrients are essential for maintaining healthy bones.
