Ondem Syrup is used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting in children experiencing gastroenteritis or food poisoning. It is also used to prevent and treat post-operative nausea and vomiting and vomiting induced by chemotherapy or radiotherapy. This formulation helps control nausea and vomiting, helping children remain hydrated and comfortable.
This medication contains Ondansetron as its active ingredient, which is a selective serotonin (5-HT3) receptor antagonist. It works by blocking the action of serotonin, a natural chemical messenger that triggers the vomiting reflex from both the gut and the central nervous system. This action helps prevent and control nausea and vomiting.
This syrup must be administered carefully to your child in the exact dosage prescribed by your doctor. If your child accidentally vomits the medicine within thirty minutes of taking it, a repeat dose may be given as advised by your healthcare provider. Never administer a double dose to compensate for a missed dose, and consult your doctor if symptoms persist.
