CompositionOlmesar-H 40 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure in adults, often when a single medicine is not enough. It is a combination medicine containing olmesartan medoxomil (an angiotensin receptor blocker) and hydrochlorothiazide (a diuretic).
It lowers the long-term risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems. Take it at a regular time in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and continue it even when you feel well.
Cut down on salt from pickles, papad and packaged snacks, limit alcohol, stay physically active and keep to a healthy weight. Drink enough fluids in hot weather.
Do not use this medicine in pregnancy. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, gout or diabetes, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Your body salts and kidney function may be checked. Report severe, ongoing diarrhoea with weight loss. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
