Olmesar A 40 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). It can be used alone or in combination with other blood pressure medications to lower elevated levels. Olmesar A40 Tablet is taken orally.

Olmesar A40 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Amlodipine (5 mg): This ingredient is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker. In simple terms, it reduces high blood pressure by preventing calcium from entering certain cells in your heart and blood vessels. This causes the cells to relax and blood vessels to dilate or widen, thereby lowering blood pressure.
• Olmesartan Medoxomil (40 mg): This ingredient is a prodrug that transforms into olmesartan once ingested. As an angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor antagonist, it blocks the activity of a substance called angiotensin II which can cause blood vessels to narrow. By blocking this substance, olmesartan helps relax and widen blood vessels which lowers blood pressure.

• Store Olmesar A40 Tablet at a temperature of 25°C (77°F). It's okay if the temperature occasionally goes between 15-30°C (59-86°F).
