Olmat 40 AM Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure in adults when it is not adequately controlled by amlodipine or olmesartan alone. It contains amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, and olmesartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker.
This combination relaxes and widens blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood and helping to lower blood pressure through two different mechanisms. Take this tablet by mouth as prescribed, with or without food. Continue taking it even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol can further help control your blood pressure alongside this medicine.
Before starting, tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, low blood pressure, or other medicines you take. Tell your doctor promptly if you notice swelling of the ankles or legs, persistent dizziness, or joint pain. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
