CompositionNovastat 40 Tablet is used to treat high cholesterol. It is a single-ingredient statin containing atorvastatin.
It helps lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides and raise good cholesterol (HDL), which reduces the risk of heart disease, heart attack and stroke. Take it preferably in the evening, with or without food, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Continue it regularly even when you feel well, and do not stop it suddenly.
Choose a heart-healthy diet low in saturated fat, with less ghee, butter and fried snacks and more vegetables, fruit, whole grains and dal. Brisk walking for at least 30 minutes on most days, a healthy weight, and avoiding smoking and excess alcohol also help.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver disease or a history of muscle pain, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report muscle pain, weakness or tenderness immediately. Your doctor may check your liver function and cholesterol levels regularly. This medicine is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
