Novamox 100mg Paediatric Drops are an antibiotic used in children to treat bacterial infections of the chest, ears, nose, throat, skin and urinary tract, such as tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia and ear infections. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing amoxicillin, and belongs to a class of medicines called penicillin antibiotics.
This medicine works by stopping bacteria building their protective cell wall, which kills them and clears the infection. It may also be used with other medicines for certain stomach-ulcer infections caused by Helicobacter pylori.
Give the drops using the measuring device provided, and complete the full course even if the child feels better early, to prevent the infection returning or antibiotic resistance developing.
Tell the doctor about any allergy to penicillin before use. Report a rash, swelling, hives or difficulty breathing to your child's doctor promptly.
