New Normet Suspension may interact with the following medications:

• Antacids containing aluminium, calcium, or magnesium: These medicines can reduce the absorption of ofloxacin, thus reducing the effectiveness of the medicine.
• Anticoagulants: The medicine can enhance the blood-thinning effect of anticoagulants like warfarin, increasing the risk of bleeding.
• Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): NSAIDs like diclofenac and naproxen when given along with the medicine may trigger convulsions or seizures.
• Antidiabetic medications: New Normet Suspension may interact with antidiabetic medicines like glimepiride and can cause sudden lowering of blood glucose levels (hypoglycaemia).

New Normet Suspension can interact with certain foods, such as:

• Dairy products: Dairy products like processed cheese and clarified butter may decrease the absorption of ofloxacin.
• Iron-rich food: Foods rich in iron like leafy vegetables and meat can also reduce the absorption of ofloxacin, decreasing its effectiveness.

New Normet Suspension may interact with the following diseases:

• Epilepsy or history of seizures: The medicine can trigger seizures or make them worse. If you have epilepsy or a history of seizures, use this medicine cautiously.
• Peripheral neuropathy: The medicine should be used with caution in patients with peripheral neuropathy (a condition where the peripheral nerves that transmit signals between your central nervous system and the rest of your body are damaged).
• Tendinitis or tendon rupture: Ofloxacin can cause or worsen tendon disorders, including tendon rupture.
• Myasthenia gravis: The medicine can worsen muscle weakness in patients suffering from myasthenia gravis (a chronic condition that causes skeletal muscle weakness).

The daily dose of New Normet Suspension should be taken as recommended by your doctor. The amount you take might vary based on factors such as how severe your condition is and how you respond to the medicine.

If you accidentally take more than the prescribed dose, you might experience common overdose symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or abdominal discomfort. If these symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor immediately.

If you forget to take the medicine at the scheduled time, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Never increase your dosage without consulting your doctor.
