Nikoran IV-48 Injection is used to prevent and manage angina, chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart, particularly when other medicines have not worked well enough or in unstable angina under medical supervision.
It contains nicorandil, a potassium channel opener that widens blood vessels to improve blood flow to the heart. It is given into a vein by a doctor or nurse in a hospital setting, with the dose adjusted based on your response.
This medicine is used entirely within a clinical setting under medical supervision, with monitoring of your heart rate, blood pressure and symptoms, so no additional lifestyle measures are required from you during treatment.
Before this medicine is given, the doctor or nurse reviews for any low blood pressure, fluid around the heart, or other medicines you take, including erectile dysfunction medicines, which must not be combined with nicorandil. Tell the team if you have any known stomach or bowel ulcers.
