Nepatop Eye Drops 5ml is used to prevent and treat pain and inflammation associated with cataract surgery. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing nepafenac, which belongs to the class of medications called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Cataract surgery can trigger the production of substances called prostaglandins in the eye, leading to pain, redness, swelling and inflammation. Nepatop Eye Drops 5ml helps control these symptoms by reducing prostaglandin production. Nepafenac penetrates the cornea and is converted into its active form, amfenac, which reduces inflammation and pain in the operated eye.
Use this medicine exactly as prescribed by your ophthalmologist. Shake the bottle well before use and avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye, eyelids or other surfaces to prevent contamination. If you use other eye medicines, follow your doctor's instructions regarding the interval between them.
Tell your doctor if you have a bleeding disorder, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, or have undergone repeated eye surgeries, as these factors may increase the risk of eye-related complications. Prolonged use of topical NSAIDs may delay healing and, in susceptible individuals, cause serious corneal problems. Seek medical attention if you develop worsening eye pain, redness, swelling, changes in vision or other unusual eye symptoms.
