Abpress Eye Drops 5ml

Abpress Eye Drops are used for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma and the management of ocular hypertension. They work to lower elevated intraocular pressure, thereby aiding in the prevention of optic nerve damage and the control of eye pressure in glaucoma patients. They are prescribed for the long-term management of chronic glaucoma and for lowering eye pressure when a single medicine is insufficient.

Follow these instructions while using Abpress eye drops:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before using the eye drops.
• Tilt your head backwards and pull down the lower eyelid gently.
• Hold the bottle close to the eye without touching any part of the eye.
• Squeeze one drop into the pocket formed by pulling down the lower eyelid.
• Close your eyes for 1 to 2 minutes and press gently on the inner corner of the eye.
• Wipe away any excess solution with a clean tissue.
• Replace the cap tightly after each use.

Abpress eye drops are used topically.

Abpress eye drops contain three active ingredients:

• Brimonidine (0.15%): This component works by reducing the production of aqueous humour (the clear fluid inside the eye) and increasing the drainage of this fluid from the eye. This dual action helps lower intraocular pressure effectively.
• Timolol (0.5%): As a beta-blocker, timolol reduces the production of aqueous humour in the eye. By decreasing fluid production, it helps lower the pressure inside the eye and protects the optic nerve from damage.
• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.02%): This ingredient functions as a preservative in the eye drop formulation. It prevents bacterial contamination of the solution and ensures that the medicine remains safe and effective throughout its use.

• Store in a cool, dry place not exceeding 30°C.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
• Protect from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Store out of reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
• Discard the bottle 28 days after first opening.

• Reduce caffeine intake (coffee, tea, energy drinks) as caffeine can temporarily increase eye pressure (intraocular pressure), which may affect glaucoma management.
• Include foods rich in antioxidants like leafy greens and colourful fruits and vegetables in your diet to improve overall eye health and protect optic nerve function.
