Metzok 50 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure, the chest pain of angina, irregular heart rhythms and stable heart failure, and to help prevent migraine attacks. It is a single-ingredient beta-blocker containing metoprolol in an extended-release form.
It eases the strain on the heart and gives a steady effect through the day. Take it at the same time each day in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it suddenly, as beta-blockers must be reduced gradually to avoid a rebound worsening of heart conditions.
Reduce salt (pickles, papad, chips), limit alcohol and rise slowly from a sitting or lying position to avoid dizziness.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have asthma, a slow heart rate or circulation problems in the hands and feet, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. If you have diabetes, this medicine can hide the warning signs of low blood sugar. Report a very slow pulse or breathlessness. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
