CompositionMethora 15 Tablet is used to manage severe rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis, to treat severe psoriasis, and to treat certain cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma, and breast and lung cancer. It is also used for ankylosing spondylitis with peripheral joint involvement.
It contains methotrexate, an antimetabolite and immunosuppressant. For autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, it is taken once a week, not daily, and is often taken with folic acid to reduce side effects. Take it as directed by your doctor, at the same time and day each week.
Regular blood tests to monitor blood counts, liver, and kidney function are essential during treatment, along with staying well hydrated and avoiding alcohol.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, as methotrexate must not be used in pregnancy and requires effective contraception during treatment and for a period afterwards. Tell your doctor about any kidney, liver, or lung problems, and about other medicines you take. Report mouth sores, unusual bruising, breathlessness, or a new cough.
