Met Xl Amt 50/5/40 Tablet 15 is used to manage high blood pressure in adults when treatment with one or two medicines has not given adequate control. It also helps prevent angina attacks and improves exercise tolerance in people with heart problems.
It combines metoprolol, a beta-blocker, amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, and telmisartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker, three medicines that lower blood pressure and reduce the heart's workload in different ways. Take it as prescribed at the same time each day, and do not stop it suddenly, as metoprolol must always be reduced gradually under medical guidance.
A low-salt diet, regular gentle exercise within your limits, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol support blood pressure and heart health alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any asthma, a very slow heart rate, significant heart failure, kidney or liver problems, or low blood pressure. It offers kidney protection in people with diabetes and hypertension. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
