Melapik Cream is used for the short-term treatment of moderate to severe melasma, a condition that causes dark, discoloured patches on the skin, usually on the face. It helps achieve a more even skin tone.
It contains hydroquinone, which lightens the skin by reducing melanin; tretinoin, which promotes renewal of skin cells; and mometasone, which reduces inflammation and redness. Apply a thin layer to the affected area at night, as prescribed by your doctor. Continue using it only for the duration advised, as prolonged use is not recommended.
Using a high-SPF sunscreen every day, along with a hat and protective clothing, is essential while using this cream, as sun exposure can worsen pigmentation and reduce how well the treatment works.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have sensitive skin before starting this cream. Avoid applying it to broken or irritated skin, and report persistent burning, severe redness or an allergic reaction to your doctor.
