Mahaflox Eye Drops 5Ml

Mahaflox Eye Drops is used for treating bacterial conjunctivitis, inflammation of the conjunctiva of the eye due to bacterial infection.

Uses of Mahaflox Eye Drops are:

• Bacterial Conjunctivitis: Treats inflammation of the conjunctiva caused by susceptible bacteria, which may be accompanied by pus."

• Mahaflox eye drop is meant for topical ophthalmic use ONLY.
• Wash your hands before using the eye drops.
• Tilt your head backwards and gently pull down the lower eyelid until there is a small pocket. 
• Turn the bottle upside down and gently squeeze it to release 1 or 2 drops into the eye.Let go off the lower lid, and close your eye for 30 seconds.Repeat the same for the other eye, if it also needs treatment.
• If a drop misses your eye, try again.. 
• Do not touch the tip of the dropper to avoid contamination. 
• In case you are using more than one eye drops, wait for 5-10 minutes between their application. 
• If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using the eye drops.
• The dosage and frequency of using the eye drops should be as advised by the doctor.
• After opening the bottle of eye drops, use it within 28 days and discard the leftovers after that. It is preferable to write the date of opening of the pack on the cover itself.

Mahaflox eye drops are meant for topical ophthalmic use ONLY.

Mahaflox eye drop contains Moxifloxacin (0.5%) which is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It acts by:

• Inhibiting the bacterial enzymes namely, Topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and Topoisomerase IV.
• The inhibition of DNA gyrase prevents the multiplication of bacteria and prevents them from repairing themselves from the damage caused by this medicine. This leads to rapid fall in the bacterial counts and treatment of conjunctivitis.
• The inhibition of Topoisomerase IV leads to prevention of bacterial cell division and stops their growth.

• The bottle should be kept upright and at room temperature.
• Keep the bottle away from heat and direct sunlight.
• Refrain from keeping the eye drops in the refrigerator.
• When not in use, make sure the bottle is tightly closed.
• Keep the bottle away from children and pets.

• Ensure proper eye hygiene. This includes keeping your eyes clean.
• Avoid unnecessary rubbing of eyes and touching the normal eye after accidental contact with the diseased eye.
• Wash your hands before application of the eye drops.
• Avoid the use of contact lenses when using these eye drops as well as during any eye infection.
