Macpred-8 Tablet is used to treat a wide range of severe inflammatory, allergic, and autoimmune conditions. It provides rapid relief from symptoms when other treatments are not enough and is used across many body systems.
It contains methylprednisolone, a potent corticosteroid. Take it with food or milk, ideally in the morning, as prescribed. Do not stop it suddenly if you have been taking it for more than a few days, your doctor will provide a gradual tapering schedule to reduce the dose safely.
Long-term use can affect the bones and immune system. Your doctor may recommend calcium and vitamin D supplements, regular exercise, and a balanced diet. Avoid close contact with people who have chickenpox or measles if you have not had them, and report any signs of infection promptly.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any infections, diabetes, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, glaucoma, or mental health conditions, as steroids can affect these. Carry a steroid card if your doctor advises it. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
