Macpred-8 Tablet is a corticosteroid used to reduce inflammation and calm an overactive immune system in a wide range of severe conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, severe asthma and allergies, lupus, inflammatory bowel disease, and certain blood and skin disorders.
It contains methylprednisolone, a corticosteroid. It works by reducing inflammation and calming the immune response.
Take it with food or milk, ideally in the morning, as prescribed. Do not stop it suddenly after more than a few days, as the dose usually needs to be reduced gradually.
Tell your doctor about any infection, diabetes, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, glaucoma or mental health conditions before use. Avoid contact with people who have chickenpox or measles if you have not had them, and report any signs of infection. Carry a steroid card if advised.
