It contains finerenone, a non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist. It works by blocking receptors that, when overactive in diabetes, drive inflammation and scarring in the heart and kidneys.
Take it with or without food at the same time each day. Regular blood tests are needed to check your potassium, as this medicine can raise it.
Tell your doctor about any severe liver disease or other blood pressure medicines before use. Report muscle weakness or an irregular heartbeat, which can be signs of high potassium.
