Lowprost Eye Drops 3ml are used for the following:

• Treating open-angle glaucoma

• Managing ocular hypertension

• Lowering elevated intraocular pressure

• Preventing vision loss from pressure damage

• Protecting the optic nerve

• Reducing fluid build-up inside the eye

• Enhancing drainage of aqueous humour

• Maintaining healthy eye pressure levels

Follow these instructions when instilling Lowprost Eye Drops 3ml:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before instilling the drops.

• Tilt your head backwards and pull down your lower eyelid gently.

• Hold the bottle above your eye without touching any part of your eye.

• Put the prescribed number of drops into the pocket formed by the lower eyelid.

• Close your eyes gently for 1-2 minutes after use.

• Wipe away any excess solution with a clean tissue.

• Wait at least 15 minutes before inserting contact lenses.

Lowprost Eye Drops 3ml are instilled topically to the eye.

Lowprost Eye Drops 3ml contain bimatoprost (0.01%), which works on the eye as follows:

• Prostaglandin analogue: Bimatoprost is a synthetic compound that mimics naturally occurring prostaglandins in your body, targeting specific receptors in eye tissues.

• Enhanced fluid drainage: It increases the outflow of aqueous humour (the clear fluid inside your eye) primarily through the uveoscleral pathway, which helps reduce fluid build-up.

• Intraocular pressure reduction: By improving the drainage of eye fluid, bimatoprost effectively lowers the pressure inside your eye, protecting your optic nerve from damage.

• Localised action: The medicine works directly on eye tissues where applied, providing targeted therapeutic effects while minimising absorption into the rest of your body.

• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
