Lotepred T Eye Drops are beneficial for managing the following conditions:

• Reducing inflammation in palpebral and bulbar conjunctivitis

• Alleviating symptoms of blepharokeratoconjunctivitis

• Controlling allergic conjunctivitis, a common type of eye allergy

• Lessening the discomfort of acne rosacea affecting the eyes

• Easing the irritation of superficial punctate keratitis, a condition causing tiny sores on the cornea

• Helping to manage herpes zoster keratitis, an eye infection caused by the chickenpox virus

• Decreasing swelling and redness in iritis, an inflammation of the iris

• Controlling cyclitis, an inflammation inside the eye

• Managing selected types of infective conjunctivitis.

To correctly use Lotepred T Eye Drops, follow these guidelines:

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Tilt your head back and look up.

• Gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Carefully bring the dropper above your eye without touching it.

• Squeeze gently to release a few drops into your eye.

• After instillation, close your eyes for a minute or two.

• Wait for at least five minutes if you need to use other eye drops.

Lotepred T Eye Drops contain two active ingredients:

• Loteprednol etabonate (5 mg): This is a corticosteroid that works by reducing the production of substances in your body that trigger inflammation. It manages capillary dilation and permeability as well as the migration of inflammatory cells, thereby helping to decrease inflammation.

• Tobramycin (3 mg): This antibiotic works by binding irreversibly to bacterial ribosomal subunits, which prevents them from translating mRNA into proteins. This disruption leads to altered cell membrane permeability and eventually results in bacterial cell death.

• Benzalkonium chloride (0.02%): It is used as a preservative in Lotepred T Eye Drops to prevent bacterial growth and contamination.

• Keep your Lotepred T Eye Drops at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

• Protect it from excessive light and moisture.

• Always ensure the bottle is tightly closed when not in use.

• Make sure it's stored where children cannot reach it.

• If you have inflammatory eye conditions, consider adding omega-3 fatty acids to your diet. Foods such as fatty fish, flaxseeds, and walnuts are rich in omega-3s which can help manage inflammation.

• Practise good eye hygiene. Always wash your hands before touching your eyes and avoid rubbing or scratching them to prevent bacterial infections.
