Losar Beta Tablet 15

Losar-Beta Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing hypertension or high blood pressure: This medicine helps control your blood pressure, especially when one medication isn't enough.

• Reducing the risk of stroke: If you have high blood pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy (an enlargement and thickening of the walls of your heart's main pumping chamber), this medicine can help lower your chances of having a stroke.

• Managing diabetic nephropathy in Type 2 diabetes patients: This condition causes damage to the kidneys due to long-term diabetes, and Losar-Beta Tablet helps manage it effectively.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid breaking or chewing it.

• Do not exceed the recommended dosage. If you feel that the current dose isn't effective, consult your doctor before making any changes.

• Don't stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor first. Doing so may cause your blood pressure to rise abruptly.

Losar-Beta Tablet is taken orally.

Losar-Beta Tablet consists of two active ingredients:

• Atenolol (50 mg): Serving as a beta-1 selective adrenergic receptor blocking agent, atenolol inhibits the effect of the sympathetic nervous system (a part of your body's automatic response system) on the heart and blood vessels. By doing so, it decreases the heart rate, cardiac output (the amount of blood the heart pumps), and blood pressure, thereby reducing the amount of work your heart has to do.

• Losartan (50 mg): This component is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, which means it blocks the effects of angiotensin II, a hormone that can tighten blood vessels. By selectively binding to the AT1 angiotensin II receptors, losartan relaxes your blood vessels, reduces sodium and water retention, and helps lower blood pressure.

• Keep your Losar-Beta Tablet stored at room temperature, ideally between 20°C to 25°C.

• Shield the medicine from light and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.

• Always ensure the medicine is kept out of reach of children.

• Check the expiry date and use the medicine before it expires.

• Since hypertension is managed by Losar-Beta Tablet, incorporate a low-sodium diet into your lifestyle. Too much salt can raise blood pressure.

• Regular physical activity, such as brisk walking or cycling, can help lower high blood pressure. Ensure you engage in such activities for at least 30 minutes on most days of the week. Always consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.
