Lizomac DS Dry Syrup is used to treat serious bacterial infections in children that do not respond to other standard antibiotics, including severe pneumonia and complicated skin and soft tissue infections. It helps clear the infection and supports your child's recovery from difficult-to-treat illnesses.
It contains linezolid, an oxazolidinone antibiotic. Measure and give the syrup to your child exactly as prescribed by the doctor, using the dosing device provided. Continue giving the full course as prescribed, even if your child starts to feel better, to help clear the infection completely.
While your child is taking this medicine, avoid giving foods rich in tyramine, such as aged cheese, cured meats and soy sauce, as this can cause a sudden rise in blood pressure. Make sure your child stays well hydrated during treatment.
Before starting this medicine, tell your child's doctor about any other medicines your child is taking, including antidepressants, as interactions can occur. Contact your child's doctor if your child develops changes in vision, persistent diarrhoea, or any unusual symptoms during treatment.
