Lizokef 600 Tablet is used to treat severe bacterial infections that have not responded to other antibiotics, including pneumonia and skin or soft-tissue infections.
It contains linezolid, an antibiotic belonging to the oxazolidinone class, which works by stopping bacteria from producing the proteins they need to grow. Take it as prescribed by your doctor, swallowing the tablet with a glass of water. Complete the full course, even if you feel better, to help clear the infection completely and reduce the risk of it returning.
Since linezolid can interact with tyramine-rich foods such as aged cheese, cured meats, fermented soy products, and alcohol, especially draught beer, limiting these while taking this medicine can help avoid a rise in blood pressure. Staying well hydrated also supports recovery.
Tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, thyroid problems, or are taking antidepressants before starting, as combining these can increase the risk of side effects. Report any unusual bruising, bleeding, numbness or tingling, or vision changes with prolonged use. Consult your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
