Aspirin (75 Mg) + Atorvastatin (20 Mg)

Lipikind-AS 20 Capsule is used to prevent heart attacks and strokes in high-risk patients. It is a combination medicine that belongs to the class of cardiovascular medications designed to protect heart health.

This medicine can also be used to prevent cardiovascular events in patients with established coronary artery disease. It helps manage dyslipidemia (abnormal levels of fats in the blood) and hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol) when diet and lifestyle changes alone are not enough to control these conditions.

Follow these instructions while taking Lipikind-AS 20 Capsule:

Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule.

Lipikind-AS 20 Capsule is taken orally.

Lipikind-AS 20 Capsule may have the following common side effects:

Dyspepsia: Consider taking Lipikind-AS 20 Capsule with food to reduce stomach discomfort.
Nausea: Taking this medicine in the evening rather than in the morning may help reduce feelings of sickness.

Lipikind-AS 20 Capsule contains two active ingredients that work together to protect your heart health:

Aspirin (75 mg): As an antiplatelet agent, aspirin works by irreversibly inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) enzyme, which reduces the production of thromboxane A2 in your body. This action decreases platelet aggregation (the clumping together of blood cells) and prevents blood clots from forming in your blood vessels.
Atorvastatin (20 mg): This component belongs to a group of medicines called statins. It works by blocking an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a key role in cholesterol production in your liver. By inhibiting this enzyme, atorvastatin effectively lowers levels of LDL (low-density lipoprotein or "bad" cholesterol) and triglycerides in your blood while raising HDL (high-density lipoprotein or "good" cholesterol) levels.

Pregnancy

Lipikind-AS 20 Capsule is not recommended during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, make sure to discuss this with your doctor before starting this medicine.

Breastfeeding

Lipikind-AS 20 Capsule is not recommended for breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor to understand the potential risks and benefits.

Alcohol

Anticoagulants: Medicines like warfarin and heparin may enhance the blood-thinning effect when combined with Lipikind-AS 20 Capsule, potentially increasing bleeding risk.
CYP3A4 inhibitors: Medicines like ketoconazole and erythromycin can increase atorvastatin levels in your blood, raising the risk of side effects.
Cardiac glycosides: Lipikind-AS 20 Capsule may increase blood levels of digoxin (a heart medicine), potentially leading to digoxin toxicity.
Disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMRAD): Aspirin in this medicine can reduce the excretion of medicines like methotrexate, potentially increasing its toxicity in your body.
