Linaxa DM 500 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults

• Improving glycaemic control alongside diet and exercise

• Helping patients inadequately controlled on metformin alone

• Reducing blood glucose levels through multiple pathways

• Supporting patients with insulin resistance

• Assisting those requiring multiple diabetes medicines

• Promoting glucose excretion through urine

• Enhancing insulin production when blood sugar rises

• Decreasing glucose production in the liver

• Improving peripheral glucose uptake and utilisation

Follow these instructions while taking Linaxa DM 500 Tablet:

• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly as your doctor has advised.

• If you have difficulty swallowing tablets, consult your doctor.

Linaxa DM 500 Tablet is taken orally.

Linaxa DM 500 Tablet contains three active ingredients:

• Linagliptin (5 mg): Functions as a DPP-4 (dipeptidyl peptidase-4) inhibitor that slows the breakdown of incretin hormones like GLP-1. This stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin when blood sugar is high and reduces glucagon secretion from the liver.

• Dapagliflozin (10 mg): Acts as a selective SGLT2 (sodium-glucose co-transporter 2) inhibitor that blocks the reabsorption of filtered glucose in the kidneys, promoting its excretion in urine. This helps lower blood sugar levels independently of insulin.

• Metformin (500 mg): It is a biguanide that decreases glucose production in the liver, reduces intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilisation. This helps lower blood sugar without causing hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar).

• Store Linaxa DM 500 Tablet below 30°C in its original packaging.

• Protect the medicine from moisture.

• Keep all medicines out of sight and reach of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Discard any unused medicine properly.

• Monitor your carbohydrate intake and choose foods with a low glycaemic index (foods that release sugar slowly into your bloodstream) to help manage your blood glucose levels.

• Engage in regular physical activity, such as 30 minutes of brisk walking most days of the week, as exercise helps improve insulin sensitivity and supports the action of the medicine.
