Latocom Eye Drops 2.5Ml

Latocom Eye Drops are used to lower high pressure inside the eye in adults with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, helping to protect the optic nerve and reduce the risk of vision loss over time.

Uses of Latocom Eye Drops are:

• Open-Angle Glaucoma: Helps lower eye pressure caused by this condition.
• Ocular Hypertension: Controls raised eye pressure that can lead to glaucoma.
• Vision Protection: Helps prevent optic nerve damage and vision loss linked to high eye pressure.

Use Latocom Eye Drops as follows:

• Always wash your hands before using the eye drops.

• Tilt your head back and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Hold the dropper above the eye with the tip facing downwards. Try not to touch your eye or any other surface with the dropper.

• Squeeze out one drop into this pocket without blinking or closing your eyes.

• Gently close your eyes and press your finger to the inside corner of your eye for about 1 minute.

• If you're using more than one type of eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes before instilling the next one.

Latocom Eye Drops is applied topically.

Latocom Eye Drops work by combining the actions of three active ingredients:

• Latanoprost (0.005%): This ingredient is a prostaglandin F2α analogue. It helps to reduce the intraocular pressure within your eye by increasing the outflow of aqueous humour. It does this by enhancing a process known as uveoscleral outflow.

• Timolol (0.5%): Timolol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agent. It reduces the formation of aqueous humour in the ciliary epithelium of the eye. This decrease in fluid production aids in lowering the intraocular pressure.

• Benzalkonium chloride (0.02%): This is a preservative that helps to maintain the sterility of the eye drops. It prevents the growth of microbes within the product.

• Store Latocom Eye Drops at room temperature, ideally between 2°C and 8°C.

• Keep the bottle in a location that is not directly exposed to light.

• Avoid placing the medicine in damp or humid areas, such as the bathroom.

• Always keep this medicine inaccessible to children.

• Use this medication before the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• Regular eye exercises can help manage intraocular pressure. These might include blinking exercises, focusing your eyes on different distances, and gentle rolling of your eyes.

• Following a balanced diet rich in antioxidants can support overall eye health. Include foods like carrots, bell peppers, dark leafy greens, and fatty fish which are beneficial for eye health. As always, these guidelines should be followed alongside your doctor's advice.
