CompositionL Alerid D Tablet is used to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, watery eyes and sinus pressure. It is a combination medicine containing levocetirizine, an antihistamine (anti-allergic), and pseudoephedrine, a nasal decongestant.
This medicine is used for hay fever and other nasal allergies when a blocked nose is a main problem. It reduces allergic symptoms and shrinks swollen tissue inside the nose to make breathing easier. Swallow the tablet whole, without crushing or chewing, with or without food, as directed by your doctor, and use it only for a short time.
Avoiding known triggers, steam inhalation and drinking plenty of fluids can help ease congestion. Avoid caffeine-rich drinks in large amounts, as they can add to restlessness.
This medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, difficulty passing urine, or kidney disease, and about other medicines you take, especially antidepressants. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek medical help if you have chest pain, a fast heartbeat or a severe headache, and contact your doctor if symptoms do not improve after a week. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
