Itracip 200 Capsule contains itraconazole (200 mg), which acts on your body as follows:

• Inhibits lanosterol 14α-demethylase: Itraconazole works by blocking an enzyme called lanosterol 14α-demethylase in fungi. This enzyme is crucial for producing ergosterol, a key component of the fungal cell membrane.
• Decreases ergosterol synthesis: By inhibiting lanosterol 14α-demethylase, itraconazole effectively reduces ergosterol synthesis.
• Weakens fungal cell membrane: The reduction in ergosterol synthesis weakens the structural integrity of the fungal membrane leading to increased permeability and impaired fungal growth.
• Fungal cell death: The weakened membrane causes eventual death of the fungal cells hence clearing up the infection.
