Istamet G Ir 50/500/1 Tablet 10 may interact with the following medicines:

• Insulin or other antidiabetic medicines: Taking these medicines together can increase the chance of low blood sugar. You may experience symptoms such as sweating, shakiness, dizziness, or confusion. Your doctor may adjust your treatment or advise closer blood sugar monitoring.
• Corticosteroids (such as prednisolone): These medicines can raise blood sugar levels. When taken with Istamet G Ir 50/500/1 Tablet 10, they may reduce how well blood sugar is controlled. Your doctor may monitor your sugar levels and adjust treatment if needed.
• Diuretics (such as furosemide): Some water tablets can affect blood sugar control. If used together, blood sugar levels may fluctuate, and your doctor may recommend more regular monitoring.

Istamet G Ir 50/500/1 Tablet 10 should be used with caution in patients with:

• Pancreatitis: This medicine should be used with caution if you have a history of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas). Some medicines like sitagliptin have been rarely associated with pancreatitis. Inform your doctor if you have a history of pancreatitis or severe abdominal pain.
• Vitamin B12 deficiency: Long-term use of metformin may reduce vitamin B12 absorption in some people. If you already have a vitamin B12 deficiency, this medicine should be used carefully, and periodic monitoring may be advised by your doctor.

Taking more than the advised amount may lead to very low blood sugar. In rare cases (mainly related to metformin), a serious condition called lactic acidosis may occur. Symptoms can include deep or rapid breathing, severe weakness, stomach discomfort, or unusual sleepiness. If overdose is suspected, seek medical help as soon as possible.

If you forget to take Istamet G Ir 50/500/1 Tablet 10, take it as soon as you remember. If it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule. Never take extra tablets to make up for missed doses.
