Headon Injection is primarily used in the management of acromegaly, a hormonal disorder caused by excess growth hormone production. It belongs to the peptide hormone group and helps regulate abnormal hormone secretion, thereby controlling disease progression.
In addition to acromegaly, this injection is used to manage severe diarrhoea and flushing associated with neuroendocrine tumours such as carcinoid syndrome and VIPomas. It is also utilised in certain diagnostic tests to evaluate pituitary and growth hormone function.
This injection should be administered under specialist supervision, with regular monitoring as advised.
