CompositionHbsalic Ointment 20gm is used to treat thick, scaly, inflamed skin conditions such as plaque psoriasis, and stubborn eczema and lichen planus, reducing redness, itching, swelling and scaling.
It contains halobetasol, a very strong corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, and salicylic acid, which softens and helps shed thickened, scaly skin so the steroid can work better.
Apply a thin layer to the affected skin as directed, and avoid the face and underarms unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
Because it contains a very strong steroid, use it only for the short period prescribed, as prolonged use can thin the skin or cause stretch marks. Do not use it on large areas or under airtight dressings unless advised.
