Gravitor Tablet is used for the management of myasthenia gravis, a condition characterized by muscle weakness and fatigue. It also addresses issues of muscle paralysis in the digestive and urinary tracts, such as paralytic ileus (muscles in intestines stop working) and postoperative urinary retention (difficulty urinating after surgery). It works to enhance nerve-to-muscle communication.

Here are some guidelines on how to take Gravitor Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing, chewing, or splitting the tablet.

• It's important not to stop taking this medicine without first consulting your doctor.

• Take this medicine on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.

Gravitor Tablet is taken orally.

Gravitor Tablet contains pyridostigmine (60 mg), which works in the body as follows:

• Enzyme Inhibition: Pyridostigmine temporarily stops the action of an enzyme called acetylcholinesterase. This enzyme breaks down acetylcholine, a chemical that transmits signals between nerve cells and muscle cells.

• Acetylcholine Increase: By inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, pyridostigmine effectively increases acetylcholine levels at nerve-muscle junctions. This leads to improved nerve signal transmission and muscle contraction.

• Muscle Strength Improvement: The increased acetylcholine enhances nerve-to-muscle communications. This helps reduce muscle weakness associated with conditions like myasthenia gravis.

• Intestinal Muscle Contraction Promotion: In the intestines, more acetylcholine means more muscle contractions, helping manage conditions such as paralytic ileus.

• Urinary Bladder Muscle Contraction Enhancement: In cases of postoperative urinary retention, pyridostigmine improves bladder muscle contractions by increasing acetylcholine activity.
