Gluconorm G2 Forte Tablet contains two active ingredients that work together to regulate blood sugar levels:

• Glimepiride (2 mg): Belonging to the sulfonylurea class of medicines, glimepiride primarily works by stimulating the beta cells in your pancreas to secrete more insulin. This hormone helps reduce blood glucose levels. Some secondary effects outside the pancreas may also contribute to its antidiabetic action.
• Metformin (1000 mg): Metformin is a biguanide antihyperglycemic agent that reduces both regular and post-meal blood glucose levels. It does this by decreasing liver glucose production, reducing intestinal glucose absorption, and improving insulin sensitivity. This increased sensitivity leads to better uptake and utilisation of glucose in your body's cells. Unlike glimepiride, metformin does not typically cause low blood sugar or hypoglycaemia, except under certain special circumstances.
