Gatilox DM Eye Drops are used to manage bacterial conjunctivitis, superficial ocular infections, and inflammation associated with bacterial eye infections.

To use Gatillox DM Eye Drops effectively, follow these instructions:

• Always wash your hands thoroughly before using the drops.

• Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Gently squeeze a few drops into the pocket without touching your eye with the dropper.

• Close your eye and gently press your finger to the inside corner of your eye for about 1 minute, to prevent the liquid from draining into your tear duct.

• Repeat these steps as directed by your doctor.

Gatillox DM Eye Drops contains three active ingredients:

• Gatifloxacin (3 mg): Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic belonging to the fluoroquinolone class. It fights against bacteria by inhibiting enzymes called DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are crucial for bacterial DNA replication. By disrupting this process, gatifloxacin causes bacterial cell death.

• Dexamethasone (1 mg): As a potent corticosteroid, dexamethasone helps to suppress inflammation in your eyes. It does this by blocking the release of substances that cause inflammation and thereby reducing capillary permeability. This action helps alleviate symptoms such as redness and swelling in your eyes.

• Benzalkonium chloride (0.01%): This ingredient serves as an antimicrobial preservative in the formulation, helping to maintain its sterility over multiple uses. In addition to preserving the drops, benzalkonium chloride also aids in enhancing the penetration of the active ingredients into your cornea.

• Store the unopened Gatillox DM Eye Drops bottle in a refrigerator between 2°C to 8°C.

• Once opened, keep it at room temperature up to 25°C.

• Protect the medicine from light and air exposure.

• Ensure it is out of reach of children.
