Fomtide 12/400 MCG Diskette 7

Fomtide 12/400 MCG Diskette 7 is used in the following conditions:

• Control and management of asthma in adults and children aged 6 years and above
• Prolonged maintenance of airflow obstruction in patients diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

• Open the Diskhaler device.
• Place the diskette (the round foil blister strip) into the holder.
• Pull the lever of the Diskhaler to pierce the blister, releasing the powdered medicine for inhalation.
• Exhale fully away from the device.
• Place the mouthpiece between your lips and inhale deeply and steadily through the mouth.
• Do not breathe out into the device.
• Hold your breath for about 10 seconds, then breathe out slowly.
• If another dose is needed, repeat the steps with the next blister on the diskette.
• After use, rinse your mouth with water and spit it out to prevent side effects (especially important for steroid medications).
• Close the Diskhaler device.

Fomtide 12/400 MCG Diskette 7 is administered via oral inhalation.

Fomtide 12/400 MCG Diskette 7 contains the following ingredients:

• Formoterol Fumarate (12 mcg): Formoterol fumarate belongs to a group of medicines called bronchodilators. It works by relaxing the muscles in your airways, making it easier for you to breathe. It achieves this by stimulating beta2-adrenergic receptors present in the lungs, resulting in the relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle.
• Budesonide (400 mcg): As a corticosteroid, budesonide works by reducing inflammation and swelling in your airways. It accomplishes this by binding to glucocorticoid receptors in your body, leading to the suppression of substances that cause inflammation.

• Store this medicine at a temperature below 30 ºC.
• Do not freeze.
• Keep Fomtide 12/400 MCG Diskette 7 away from children.

• Understand the correct technique for using the medicine to maximise effectiveness.

• Keep your living environment clean, and consider using air purifiers if necessary.
• Avoid exposure to smoke, strong odours, and chemical fumes, as they can irritate the airways and trigger bronchospasm. 
• Learn and practice breathing techniques to improve your lung function and control breathlessness. Consult your doctor to learn about breathing exercises.
