Flagyl 400 Tablet is used to treat a variety of infections caused by bacteria and parasites. It is also used as part of combination therapy to eradicate Helicobacter pylori in patients with peptic ulcer disease. Additionally, it helps treat bacterial vaginosis, dental infections like acute ulcerative gingivitis, and is commonly given before surgeries to prevent post-surgical infections.

Flagyl 400 Tablet contains metronidazole (400 mg) which works on the body in the following ways:

• Penetration into Cells: Metronidazole enters bacterial and protozoal cells where it undergoes a reduction process.
• Toxicity towards Anaerobic Organisms: The reduced form of metronidazole forms unstable compounds that bind to DNA and inhibit nucleic acid synthesis, causing cell death. This action is selective towards anaerobic bacteria and protozoa because these organisms have the ability to reduce metronidazole inside their cells.

• Store Flagyl 400 Tablet below 30°C.
• Keep it away from excessive light and moisture.
• Place this medicine out of the reach of children.

• If you have an infection like Giardiasis, take care to drink only boiled or bottled water and ensure your food is well-cooked to avoid reinfection.
