It is also used to eradicate Helicobacter pylori in peptic ulcer disease and treat bacterial vaginosis, dental infections, and prevent post-surgical infections.

Flagyl 400 Tablet 15 composition contains Metronidazole (400 Mg) as its active ingredients.

• Penetration into Cells: Metronidazole enters bacterial and protozoal cells where it undergoes a reduction process.
• Toxicity towards Anaerobic Organisms: The reduced form of metronidazole forms unstable compounds that bind to DNA and inhibit nucleic acid synthesis, causing cell death. This action is selective towards anaerobic bacteria and protozoa because these organisms have the ability to reduce metronidazole inside their cells.
